Each of us is the sum of our experiences in life. The secret is discovering how these experiences interrelate. I offer mental health therapy in the areas described below.

Therapy for Individuals

Individual therapy provides an opportunity for self awareness, reflection, learning valuable life skills, and discovering new ways of interacting with the world.
I provide a safe, confidential environment to discuss difficult emotions or life challenges.
Questions about what to expect in therapy or feeling nervous is normal. Because we are unique, strategies in therapy are tailored to fit individual needs. Treatment modality, establishing goals and length of treatment is determined together in our first meeting.
It is helpful to think of questions you have about therapy in advance. Feeling informed and prepared when you begin treatment, sets the stage for identifying realistic goals and obtaining successful outcomes in therapy.
I encourage you to call and ask questions about mental health. Research consistently concludes that the key factor in predicting successful outcomes in therapy is the positive relationship between client and therapist.
When you feel safe to share openly, I can better understand and support you.

Couples Counseling

Marriage therapists can be instrumental in providing objective support to couples in difficult moments or when seeking positive change. Couples thrive when five elements of the relationship are healthy: communication, intimacy, and feeling respected, valued and appreciated.
Healthy marriages require maintenance and ongoing investment in the relationship.
I provide a safe, confidential space to discuss relational challenges or hope for change. Together, we will set therapy goals, discuss and practice strategies for reconnecting and desired change. With mutual investment and effort, you can achieve the relationship you want with your partner. Built to last marriages are not a mystery, they are the result of choice and action. Choose today to take action and invest in the relationship you desire.

Family Therapy

Family therapy encourages positive growth and connectivity to promote healthy family systems. Research indicates that people report feeling happiest when their relationships are healthy. Similarly, we are likely to "feel as happy as our least happy family member".
Family closeness and distancing is in constant motion. As family members individually face challenges, the family dynamics, functionality and connectedness may shift. Psychologist, Eric Erickson suggested that "healthy families are able maintain family traditions while adapting to changes in society."
I assist families in strengthening family resiliency by teaching skills for better communication, respect, participation, and preparedness for anticipated change. Family stressors or major life events can test the strength of the family system. Being prepared for change and adaptive in nature can prevent milestones from turning into unnecessary turmoil.
Just as individuals are unique, so are families. Together, we will determine the best course of treatment for your family.
It is wise to seek objective support with family health concerns. Let's connect to determine if I will be a good fit for your family.

Therapy for Teenagers

The energy and emotions of adolescence, nearing young adulthood can be exciting; it can also be painful and frightening for both parent and child.
Teenagers are faced with more rapid change and data than previously seen in recorded history. With social media, societal pressures, health and economic concerns, it is hard not to have empathy for the inner life of today's teens. Without a reference point, even for technology, parents and teachers often feel at a loss.
Teens benefit most from feeling independent, competent and confident about their personal health and future. I provide a safe place for teens to process their inner world, emotions, decision-making and individual journey.  When mental health concerns such as depression or anxiety exist, we focus on healthy coping skills and self-care.
I look forward to the opportunity to support your loved one on their path into adulthood.
